Keeping Monthly Goals And Blog Contests

Do you keep Monthly Goals for your blog?

Why or Why not?

Should You?

Well, that’s exactly what we are going to talk today – the importance of keeping monthly goals for your blog. Along with that, we will also be discussing about some of guest blogging contests that I am participating in.

My Inspiration for this post: To be honest, I was going to write a monthly report but then I realized that it wouldn’t be much useful for you guys – after all, I have to keep the post “informative”, right?

Here are the guest articles that I have written for two different contest. Help me out my commenting and promoting these articles. Thanks!

Guest Blog: Where Do You Guest Blog and Why?

This article talks about my experience with guest blog – where I guest blog (and why I do it there). It talks about guest blogging at active communities and getting the most results out of your guest post.

The title explains it all. If you were a regular reader of my blog, then you would know that I always advocated for being passionate about blogging. Not any more. Check out the article to find out why.

Keeping Monthly Goals For Your Blog?

To be honest, I never kept monthly goals until I started this blog (even though I had written about keeping monthly/daily goals). And I do regret that mistake.

I started this blog 3 months ago (in Late November), but didn’t start blogging till January – because I was busy with setting up everything.

I didn’t have any plans for setting up monthly goals until recently – about 2 weeks ago.

My first monthly goals were (which I accomplished):

  • Write at least One Post Per Weekday
  • Get 100+ comments
  • Get Back with Guest Blogging – Write at least 3 guest posts per week
  • Comment on blogs

From my experience, here is what I have got to tell you:

Having Monthly goals helps us to be

  • Focused: Yes, having these small time goals got me really productive and focused on just blogging.
  • Better Results: I would have not achieved this much – within a month – if I didn’t have these goals.
  • Exposure, Back links and All benefits of blogging – Goals help you to be more productive (for some people, it might work a little different).
  • Stronger Motivation and Confidence = Self Esteem with blogging – You know, once I achieved these goals, my motivation and confidence got stronger, which means a higher self esteem. It also helped me with my studies. For instance: This has also helped me to perform better in class presentations and tests.

My Goals For This Month:

I am publishing these goals because then I will be committed to it (since I already told it to you guys).

  • Get 100 unique visitors per day.
  • More commenting and networking.
  • Think about a product for this blog.
  • Do a little more work on my newsletter list.
  • Get an average of 20 comments per blog post.

If you are planning to keep monthly goals, then here are my tips for you:

  • Keep it simple.
  • Keep it targeted.
  • Commit to achieve your goals.
  • Nothing is impossible, Aim for the moon and strive for the sun :D

Blog Contests

Right now, I am also participating in two different guest blogging contest (I hope to make some money and giveaway something to you guys).
